Supplemental Guidance
Area-wide disruptions refer to those types of disruptions that are broad in geographic scope with such determinations made by organizations based on organizational assessments of risk.
Practitioner Notes
This enhancement requires your alternate processing site to be accessible and ready for use during a disruption — staff need to be able to get there and operate.
Example 1: Pre-stage VPN concentrators and remote access infrastructure at your alternate site so that staff can connect and work remotely even if the primary office is inaccessible.
Example 2: Document driving directions, building access procedures, and equipment locations for your alternate site, and ensure all key personnel have building access credentials.
