Assessment Objective
An assessment objective is a specific, testable statement that an assessor uses to determine whether you've properly implemented a CMMC practice. Each practice may have multiple assessment objectives — these are the individual checkboxes an assessor must verify during your CMMC assessment.
For example, a practice about account management might have assessment objectives like: 'accounts are disabled when no longer needed,' 'account managers are notified when users are terminated,' and 'access authorizations are specified for each account.' Each objective must be individually satisfied.
Why It Matters
Understanding assessment objectives helps you prepare evidence packages for each requirement. Knowing exactly what assessors will check allows you to verify your own readiness before the official assessment.
